Imagine serving years — even decades — in prison for a crime you did not commit. Recent scientific advances, particularly in the area of DNA evidence, have exposed the fact that hundreds and probably thousands of persons are in prison for crimes they did not commit. Hundreds of persons have been exonerated based on DNA evidence. The State of Texas, and in particular, Dallas County have had more exonerations than any other state or county in the country.

More Than Just DNA

While the vast majority of exonerations around the country have involved DNA, our attorneys have also successfully exonerated and achieved the release of persons based on other methods of proving their innocence. These exonerations include recantation of false testimony, particularly in child sexual abuse cases, and locating new evidence that proves actual innocence.
